English Speech on Discipline

Are you in search of a good morning speech to deliver at your school assembly? Then you have landed on the right place.
 Welcome to English Learning!

Before jumping into the topic , read the given tips to deliver an excellent speech.

1. Keep calm and be confident.
Everyone gets nervous when it comes to delivering a speech which is completely fine. You have to stop overthinking about it all the time. Just keep calm and think that you have to give your best and in order to deliver a good speech you must be self assured , don't doubt yourself with unnecessary thoughts. Just keep calm and be confident.

2. Keep your topic short , clear and meaningful.
It is not mandatory that your speech has to be too lengthy. Your speech has to be meaningful and impactful for the audience. So length doesn't matter here. Basically, on what topic you deliver your speech and how well you deliver is all that matters. So don't bother about delivering a long speech. If your audience can't understand and connect with your topic then what's the point of delivering such a lengthy speech? Think!

3.Don't deliver your speech looking at the paper.
Presentation is all that matters while delivering a speech. If you read from the paper then it reveals many things about you such as you are not well prepared and are not confident. The audience might assume that you are nervous, they might see your hands trembling and also they might not pay full attention to your speech. So, in order to avoid such things you should avoid reading looking at the paper.

4.Practice in front of the mirror at home.
If you really want to deliver a nice speech without just reading from the paper then Practice is a must. I am sure you all must have heard about this quotation 'Practice makes a man perfect. ' Isn't it?
So all you need to do is Practice, Practice and Practice!

5.Speak with correct intonation, pronunciation and stress.
It is very important to deliver a speech with correct intonation, pronunciation and stress. Your audience should understand what you are trying to convey? They should clearly understand each and every words and points said by you. So always try to speak with correct intonation, pronunciation and stress.

6.Take pause in between.
Another important aspect of delivering a good speech is to take pause in between. Don't finish your speech in one go. You should pause in the right moments so that you can give your audience some time to process what you just said. Pausing will help you to convey the message more efficiently.

7. Do eye contact with the audience.
While delivering a speech it is very important to maintain a genuine eye contact with your audience. It helps to establish a connection with your listeners.

8. Don't stand still, use your voice and hands effectively.
Always remember that good body posture plays a very crucial part when it comes to delivering a speech publicly. While delivering speech most people tend to do these kinds of mistakes such as placing their hands behind their back or touching their face continuously, some just stand still avoiding eye contact and just looking at a particular direction trying to finish their speech as soon as possible and that too by reading looking at the paper .
So, if you are also one of these people then stop what you are doing. You can use your hands to emphasize your points. Move your hands to explain what you are talking about, it will keep your audience engaged as well as help them understand your points.
Similarly, our voice is also very important. We should be audible and clear to convey the message effectively while delivering a speech.

9. Read from the paper only if you have forgot the points.
When it comes to delivering a good speech then one should always try to avoid reading speeches as much as possible. But there are times when we couldn't do it and have to just read it. It's okay to do that not every time but as rarely as you can. If you forget your points then you can read looking at the paper . If you are not confident enough to speak publicly then in such cases you can do it. Remember no one is perfect but with practice we can do anything and everything. You just have to keep going.

10.Conclude your speech by reciting a quotation relevant to the speech topic.
Lastly when you conclude your speech don't just bluntly say thank you and end your speech thinking you will just say thank you and leave and that's it. No. That's not how you are supposed to conclude your speech. You must conclude your speech properly. For example, you can either recite a nice relevant quotation, or provide a summary and lastly don't forget to thank the audience.

Now read the following speech on Discipline which you can deliver at your school.

A very good morning to one and all present out here. Respected Principal Sir, Vice Principal Sir, all the teachers, non- teaching staffs, brothers and sisters and my dear friends. Today I am standing in front of you all to deliver a short speech on the topic
 Discipline.

Discipline is very important to be successful  in life. Life without discipline is useless and meaningless. It is like a ship without a rudder . Just as a rudderless ship flounders in mid- ocean, in the same way our life is wrecked without discipline.

If there is no discipline in our home and if we do not give respect to our elders, parents and do not obey anyone then we are bound to go astray and become nothing in life. In other words we will be good for nothing. If we want to become a successful person then we should first learn to be disciplined.
At school, if we do not show discipline inside the classroom and pay proper attention to our teachers then we are bound to become manner less person and grow into
irresponsible , useless human beings.

In our daily life also we have to obey the laws, rules and regulations of the country in which we live and fulfill our duties and responsibilities as good citizens otherwise our country will not develop and progress.

Lastly I would like to conclude my speech by saying that discipline is necessary for all of us. Freedom without discipline only leads to chaos. No one can become great and strong without discipline. Let each one of us become a good human being by maintaining proper discipline not only in school or in our home but in all stages of life.
Thank you so much everyone.

THE EAGLE AND THE BEETLE

The Eagle and the Beetle A beetle loved a certain hare And wandered with him everywhere; They went to fairs and feasts together,  Took walks in any kind of weather,  Talked of the future and the past  On sunny days or overcast,  But, since their friendship was so pleasant,  Lived for the most part in the present.  One day, alas, an eagle flew Above them, and before they knew What cloud had shadowed them, the hare Hung from her talons in mid-air.  'Please spare my friend,' the beetle cried.  But the great eagle was sneered with pride: 'You puny, servile, cloddish bug - Go off and hide your ugly mug.  How do you dare assume the right To meddle with my appetite?  This hare's my snack. Have you not heard I am the great god Zeus's bird?  Nothing can harm me, least of all A slow, pathetic, droning ball.  Here, keep your friend's head' And she tore The hare's head off, and swiftly bore His bleeding torso to her nest,  Ripped off ...

THE THIRTEENTH BULLET

THE THIRTEENTH BULLET    The mountainous countryside of Owari enjoyed a peaceful existence. The villagers felled trees and burned charcoal, which they would carry over the narrow trails to the nearest towns. Hunters were successful here, for there was plenty of game. As the days passed by, nothing ever happened that was worth the telling. Until suddenly everything changed, and not a single day went by without something happening to upset the whole village. At first, fowl began to go astray, then cattle began to disappear. Even worse the villagers themselves began to fear for their safety. Often those who were confident of knowing their way did not return home from the fields at nightfall. In the morning they were found with torn limbs and mauled faces. The villagers knew that some unknown beast was terrorizing the forest, so they went many times to track it down. They spread traps, but the beast was unusually clever. It was as though it knew exactly what the villagers were...
