What is a leave application?
It is a formal letter which is written to ask permission to take leave from regular classes for a certain period of time.

Why it is important to write leave application for the students?
Leave applications are written by the students in order to ask permission to grant their leave of absence.
The students can ask for one day leave, two days leave or sometimes a week specifying their reasons.

What is the format of writing leave application?
In order to write a proper leave application, the students must consider few things as mentioned below.
1.The students have to write the following on the left hand side of the paper:
To the Principal,
Through the class teacher,
Name of school:
Date:
[ While writing date you have to mention the date on which you will be absent.]

2. After writing all the above mentioned things. The students have to write Subject.
Now, what is a subject?
In subject the students have to mention for how many days they want leave or they are not going to attend their classes.
This is how Subject is written -

Subject : An application for one day leave of  absence.

3.Body/ Content:
After the students finish writing subject, then they have to write body / content.
Now what to write in body?
Here the students have to mention the reason, why they won't be able to attend their classes.
How to write the body?
Follow these steps:

Respected Sir/ Ma'am,
I (your name) would like to inform you that I am unable to attend my classes today because I am suffering from headache.

Here, you can see that the body is written very precisely and to the point. Students don't have to write unnecessary details and just have to mention their name and reason.

[Important note: While writing body /content avoid writing 'I beg to state']

What to write in place of  I beg to state?
You have to first understand that you are asking permission to grant your leave and in order to ask the same you can write 'With due respect and humble submission' instead of writing 'I beg to state' all the time.

Now, coming to fourth point which is

4. Conclusion:
In order to conclude your application you must write :
Therefore, I would like to request you to kindly grant my leave only for one day/ two days/ a week depending on for how many days you want leave.

THE THIRTEENTH BULLET

THE THIRTEENTH BULLET    The mountainous countryside of Owari enjoyed a peaceful existence. As the days passed by, nothing ever happened that was worth the telling. Until suddenly everything changed, and not a single day went by without something happening to upset the whole village. At first, fowl began to go astray, then cattle began to disappear. Even worse the villagers themselves began to fear for their safety. Often those who were confident of knowing their way did not return home from the fields at nightfall. In the morning they were found with torn limbs and mauled faces. The villagers knew that some unknown beast was terrorizing the forest, so they went many times to track it down. They spread traps, but the beast was unusually clever.
